A strong sense of social responsibility and the
belief that cost should not limit the availability of good quality care
to the poorer sections of society has always been integral to the philosophy
of the founders of this institution. Therefore from its inception, this
institution has provided free care to patients from corporation hospitals,
government hospitals and charitable institutions in the city such as the
Women and Children's Hospital, Institute of Child Health, Kasturba Gandhi
Hospital, Kilpauk Medical College Hospital, Stanley Hospital, RSRM Hospital,
Govt. General Hospital, Govt. Royapettah Hospital, ESI Hospitals, Sri
Ramachandra Medical College Hospital and Military Hospital, Chennai. Over
60,000 free scans have been done over the years in the government institutions.

Between 1982-2004 an average of
1820 free scans per year were performed, adding upto more than 40,000
free scans in 22 years. Estimating conservatively, between 2005-2009 alone,
about 1.5 crore rupees worth of free services have been provided to the
less privileged sections of society by MediScan. |
